February 2012: Sewage Still Spills onto Sydney Beaches

More than half of Sydney's beaches have been found unsafe for swimming this summer as raw sewage continues to flow into the city's creeks and stormwater drains after heavy rain.

The overflow problem has not improved over the past 15 years, but the state government has no plans to speed up sewerage restoration work, according to today's Sydney Morning Herald.
