New South Wales Nature Conservation Council annual event Walk Against Warming 2010 attracted 10,000 people to Bellmore Park in Sydney to march around the city to highlight the need to act urgently on climate change. Amongst the participants were Manly Environment Centre, the Wilderness Society and Chip Busters. Manly Environment Centre had penguins and jellyfish and frogs to highlight the International Year of Biodiversity.

On Thursday, April 22, Earth Day celebrated its 40^th anniversary.  To celebrate this day, Manly Environment Centre promoted the use of reusable coffee cups in Manly. Australians use approximately 500 million disposable cups a year – that’s 951 per minute.

This event in Cabbage Tree Bay, Manly, brought government, local organisations and local people together to involve them in an environmental project.

On Sunday 6th December 2009 the Manly Environment Centre hosted the 16th Ocean Care Day Festival, a free hands-on family event on Manly Beach. This year's festival celebrated the 'International Year of Astronomy' with activities around tidelines. Astronomers from the Sydney Observatory explained the effects of the moon and the sun on our tides and showed sun spots through a special H-Alpha telescope.

On Sunday 5th December 2010 the Manly Environment Centre hosted the 17th Ocean Care Day Festival, a free community event by the sea with 40+ eco exhibitors, launched by Ian Keirnan and Ben Peacock as Master of Ceremonies.
